California Probate
The attorneys’ fees are based on the estate appraisal and set by California Probate Code §10810 as follows:
- 4% of the first $100,000 of the estate
- 3% of the next $100,000
- 2% of the next $800,000
- 1% of the next $9,000,000
- One-half % of the next $15,000,000
For example, for a $500,000.00 estate, the attorneys’ fees would be $13,000.00 (4% of first $100,000 ($4,000), plus 3% of second $100,000 ($3,000), and 2% of every $100,000 after that – $6,000). These fees are paid by the estate at the end of the case.
** Small Estate Probate cases are usually a flat fee – depending on the case – and would be discussed during your consultation.
Hourly Work
Legacy Legal Group PC charges $400.00 per hour for all attorney hourly work, and $90.00 per hour for all paralegal work.
